Deleted all of my texts, still 6 mb saved?

Just out of curiosity, where did the 6 mb saved come from if I deleted all of my messages? Is there a way to find out which ones are saved?

Someone posted this similar issue. He/she was able to resolve it.

First, you hold the message to be deleted.

Second, Click on "More"

3rd, Clear all conversations.

4th. Go back to iMessages and delete the persons name as if he/she never texted you.

I saw my Usage decrease each time I did this for every message I cleared.

If you go to the actual text message itself, hold your finger directly on the message itself until the options menu appears. "More" is one of the options. Tap on that. Then, tap on "clear conversations" which is in red at the bottom of the screen. Then go back to the list of names of people that texted you. Delete that person's name from the list. Your data usage will decrease and clear more space.

The best way to test this is check your iMessage data first before deleting your text message. That way you can see for yourself, after deleting, that the usage has dropped to give you more space.

Just to be clear, you did mean MEGAbytes and not GIGAbytes, right?

I ask because 6mb (what was written in OP) might very well be the amount of space that is always taken up buy "blank" messages. Even if not, I certainly wouldn't stress over something the size of one, maybe two mp3 files.
