Deleted important files - help!

I accidentally deleted a couple files from the /usr folder on my ipod touch running 3.1.3. Now when I turn it on it just goes to the Apple, turns black, Apple, black, continuously. I don't want to upgrade to iOS 4, but restoring keeps saying it won't prepare or something... how can I fix this?
No shsh's, I can't SSH...

If you don't want to, DFU restore.

If you don't want to update to iOS 4, DFU mode the device and see if it will restore.
