So maybe I'm doing something wrong...I don't know.

I listen to a lot of podcasts and when I'm done listening to them I like to delete them from my 2gen Ipod Touch. I swipe my finder over it, a little "delete" button appears and it goes away. UNTIL I go to sync it and iTunes puts it back on. Is there a way in the sync process you can tell it to keep the most recent changes like you can with PDA's?

Why not change your podcast sync preferences to only copy new episodes?

That way, episodes you've listened to will be automatically removed by iTunes without you even having to delete them.

But don't half listened to ones get removed that way?
It used to be that way.
Even if I did set this, I never listen to them 100%. At the end there is always the "We'd like to thank...tune in next time for....blah.."

I would just think deleting something would you know...delete it.

I don't think half listened to ones do.

If I'm near the end, I always just fast forward to the end so that it does display as listened-to.

I think the only way to have the delete work is if you're willing to manually move podcasts onto the touch.

I'm not trying to make excuses for Apple, and I agree that my suggestion isn't ideal - but I've found that it's the closest to what I want.
