I deleted the mail app when I first got my MBP back in September because I didn't think I would ever use it...well I need it now.

I used Pacifist to install it off of the OS X SL recovery disc but when I try opening Mail it says that the application is not compatible with the build of my OS.

Can anyone help me out...

I have to ask...why would you delete the 80 MB mail application off your machine? Are you trying to run your machine on a 30 GB SSD or something?

I tried Time Machine but I got this again...

and btw...I have a 120GB SSD. I deleted Mail because I didn't think I would use it.

Duff-Man says...if for whatever reason the link given above does not resolve the issue then you should just get the 10.6.8 combo updater from Apple and run that - it should patch Mail up to the current version....oh yeah!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:)

I had a problem with my Mail...I tried everything I could think of...I'm a complete "computer illiterate", and a plumber. I had moved my Mail app to the trash because, every time I opened it...this odd cycle of it trying to send this movie I took with my iphone...that it couldn't send...it would freeze my MBP....thanks, again everyone!
