Hello guys,

I'm trying to find this for a friend whos wife by mistake deleted some pictures and then the trash got emptied so I wonder if there is a way to retrieve at least some of them? Is there a software that would try to look for it if the HDD still has traces of it so it could retrieve it? I know that on PC there was something like that so I wonder if OSX has something too.
Thanks in advance

Time Machine is the best method, assuming it was set up.

Otherwise, Data Rescue is probably your best hope.

There is plenty of 3rd party software that 'recovers lost data', just make sure you don't download any malware. Stick to the ones advised in the thread. And yes if you have a Time Machine backup, always use that instead of any other software, as it's just always the best for solving problems like this.
