Will unscrewing the baseplate of an early 2015 retina macbook pro void it's warranty in any way? I plan to make no modifications and just take a look underneath.

Probably not. But it might be easier to search for a breakdown of the early 2015 rMBP instead. Sites like OWC and iFixit usually have the breakdowns on the latest models.

It'll only void your warranty if you damage something. Apple doesn't use any kind of tamper seal, so they won't know you opened it if your careful and don't leave any marks.
