I have 5 signatures in Apple Mail. I want to delete the first one. Will the remaing four renumber themselves as 1 2 3 4 or will I be left with 2 3 4 5? Anyone know the answer to ths?

They will keep the names that they have.

Sorry not sure I understand what you mean by names I am referring to the numerical order as there are signatures numbered 1 to 5 and I want to delete number 1 Signature but do not want to lose the numbering sequence.
The "names" are "Signature #1" etc. and won't change if any are deleted.
What I'm saying is in Mail>Preferences>Signatures you can double click the "name" of the signature and change it from "Signature #1" to "Graig - Business" or whatever...for identification purposes when selecting one for an email.
