All iPads Deleting apps from iPad 2

I can't delete apps from my iPad. If I hold the icon down, it shakes, but there is no "X".

I have deleted the apps from iTunes.

What am I missing?

Have you tried rebooting the iPad? Can you delete apps from settings i.e. usage list?

General --> Usage --> touch app and delete

1) Have you tried doing "RESET ALL SETTINGS"?

I haven"t. Just a little shy about doing something I can't reverse. Got gobs of info contacts, calendar..........although I backup on iTunes daily.

You're talking about all apps, right? Because stock apps can't be deleted.

Got it once I remembered my Restrictions code under Settings.
