iPod touch Deleting Apps on the iPod

So i downloaded an app or on to my iTunes and then synced my ipod to get those apps. Then, i deleted a few apps that i didnt care for via my iPod. When i synced again, instead of deleting the apps from iTunes, it added the apps back onto my iPod.

That seems silly.

Do exactly like I did using the attached photo below. Unselect the ones you no longer want on your iPod/iPhone.
