Deleting/erasing a damaged phone.

My 3gs recently had a close encounter of the worst kind w/ the washer and dryer.

now the display is toast.

is there a way to erase my personal info so I can sell it for parts?

it will turn on if I attach the cable but the display is white with grey blotches, so I cannot tell if pushing buttons does anything.

Did you try to sync with iTunes and restore it?

As the previous poster said, connect to iTunes and "Restore As New". You may be able to do it without the need for the iPhone screen if you follow the on screen prompts on your computer.
