Deleting gmail emails

In iOS 6, if I wanted to DELETE a gmail email (instead of ARCHIVING it) I am pretty sure I would just hold down the archive button & it would be replaced with "delete". That doesn't seem to work anymore.

I really dont want my gmail archives full; would much rather delete. Has anyone noticed this?
