Title says it all, is there a way to delete an iMovie project and its related files from inside the iMovie application not through finder?

iMovie6HD or iMovie8/9/11? If 6, then no.

If it's 11 then in the Project Library just select a Project, and then delete from the iMovie Menu. It won't delete the associated Events from the Events Library, so you'll have to do that separately. iMovie8/9 are probably the same as 11.

Thanks! it is the iMovie 11. It is odd that one cannot delete everything from the app...ho well, through finder is just as quick.

One last question because you seem to know iMovie well. What does "finalize the project" do? I have been able to have my movie through "export" without finalizing first...

All Finalize does is automatically export your Project into every size that is available in the Share>Export Movie choice, and makes them available in the Media Browser for other applications. You don't have to use it.
