Deleting iPhone Backups

Okay, I did a search and could not find anything. I want to delete previous iPhone backups. Right now I have about 6... way too many. Does anyone know how to do this?

BTW, if there is a post on this, I fully expect to be tarred and feathered.

in iTunes preferences dropdown, then click on syncing tab. Delete. thats how i deleted all my extras
