Hello

I just bought a new MB on craigslist and i want to delete the old user's information and change it to mine--

the address submitted on day 1 of the computer
where it says "David Doan's (old owner) Macbook"

etc

I've changed the administrator and the password for now. Is there anything else you would recommend doing....

or should i just restore to factory settings???

I would start fresh myself, that way you can set the machine up the way you want it, and avoid all the old "crap" from the last user. But that is just me:)

for whatever reason, when i tried doing that last night, all the original information was all still there...

am i doing it all wrong?

I thought all i have to do is put in the OS disc and re-install??

You need to do an erase and install not an archive and install. Glad to hear you got the install discs with that craigslist purchase. Never buy a used or "new" Mac without them.
