What you see in a thread on MacRumors these days might not represent the actual discussion that has gone on in there. This is a downward trend I have seen more and more in my more than 15 years of dedicated membership to this website.
Moderators, in my view, are too trigger-happy in fully deleting posts that might contain the slightest issue, rather than editing them. In some cases, editing does occur - but in other cases posts which could easily have been edited to become fully compliant with the rules, simply disappear. I’ve seen half a page of posts in a thread disappear after a few minutes. This makes it very difficult to keep up properly with the conversation and some posts might not even make sense once the “bad” ones have disappeared.
My suggestion is that if moderators have an issue with a post, they think twice before fully deleting it and instead consider if it can be edited instead. This fixes the issues I mentioned above and it can help educate forum users who are apparently breaking rules, to see how their posts might be rephrased to be compliant with the moderation regime.
