"Deleting" recently added tunes

Is there a way to delete tunes that were purchased through a "free music" card that I really didn't want?

Can't you delete it in iTunes and then sync?

Well, something seemed to have worked and I rally don't know what I actually did. I tried a few things, like trying to delete recently added and such. But I ended doing a "sync" and it rid my phone of the songs I didn't want. Someone gave me a "music" card and when I entered the code number it started to download 30 songs. Music I really didn't care for
