hey people, i downloaded this app onto my mac called iAlertU and i would like to remove it permanently so i would like to ask if any of you guys know how to do that. i just moved the file to trash and empty trash. is that the way to remove an app permanently? :apple:

Generally, yes. If the app came with an installer, often times it will also need an uninstaller - but not always.

If you copied the app to your Applications folder to install it, then all you need to do is trash it.

well, when i downloaded it, i didn't move the app to the app folder i just opened it there from the installer and i deleted the installer does that mean it is fully clear?
i also searched it up on my Spotlight and nothing popped up

If you opened up its preferences, there will be a .plist file under User/Library/Preferences/. Sometimes there might be a file/folder under the Application Support folder in Library. Use apps like AppDelete to delete apps completely.

but i used it even though it was not in the app folder and i also searched spotlight nothing popped up after i removed it from trash does that mean it is gone?

It is gone ... although it probably left a .plist preference file somewhere. Don't worry, that file is completely harmless.

but i deleted the app already. should i re-download it and then use app delete? if i do that will it leave DOUBLE?

Using what? iAlertU? No.

it is recommened that i use appdelete but i don't have the app anymore so should i redownload it? if i do that will it make double the crap it put in the first place?

is that how you delete apps? you just move it to the trash and leave the other crap it put in your computer?

Yes. The other crap usually adds up to only a few hundred KB, at most, and it doesn't interfere with anything.
