iPhone XR Delivery question

I preordered my iPhone XR on the 19th as soon apple made it available to preorder, it still says “preparing for shipment” and I was just wondering when it will change to shipped as it’s due to arrive on the 26th I’ve seen that some people’s iPhones have already been dispatched but mine hasn’t yet. Is this normal? I’ve never preordered from Apple before so I wouldn’t know? Thanks.

I've had Apple pre orders leave China on a Wednesday and be on my doorstep in the US by Friday.
