I still have no idea why Apple haven't this built into their iOS as it's an old feature and something people seem to want when sending text messages, particularly me, It's a feature that was on all my old Nokia Phones and very useful.

I see there are workarounds to get delivery reports on networks such as o2 and orange but i am on 3 and can't see anything for this network but i know they DEFINITELY support this feature because i have used my phone jailbroken before and there is a free delivery report install that worked beautifully.

Does this missing feature that's been about on other phones for many a year annoy anyone else

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the US carriers don't support Delivery Reports, and a lot of networks are trying to get rid of them as they add so much more traffic. I think Apples idea or bringing them to the iPhone is in iMessage. I agree the option should be available though.

'ER, um, my first treo on Verizon gave me them - in fact I just showed DD yesterday how to check them on the hand-me-down 755p she got.

In my few days of iP4 usage, I can say I HIGHLY miss them.

However, I thought it was coming in iOS5???

I've tried iOS 5 and didn't spot a setting for them? But I really hope you are right.

Something so simple but I really miss them.
