On January 9th, I placed an order for a Quad Core MP with 4GB Ram, other wise stock, on ExperCom. I have been waiting ever since. I followed up a couple of times and was told that the machine was not yet in stock. :(

Have you gotten your Quad Core yet? Should I cancel my order and place a new order at a different reseller? Any recommendations?

I am trying to avoid ordering from Apple to save on sales tax.

I look forward to finally getting the new MP and I am almost ready to just suck it up place an order with Apple.

Did you order it with the Nvidia 8800 graphics card? If so, that's the cause for the delay and ordering through Apple isn't going to help at all. All 8800-equipped systems are waiting for the graphics cards to arrive. Estimate from Apple on the 9th was "3-5 weeks" so in theory they could start shipping any day now -- but the orders placed then still show a ship estimate of 13 Feb...
