I am looking at the Dell 2209WA to use as a display to go with my unibody macbook. I am just wondering if the quality is good. I would be using it mostly for page layout, design and some photo editing. I am not really concerned about gaming or movies but it would be nice if it was OK for these uses as well. I work on an older 23" ACD ( the non-aluminum one ) at work so I would like to know how it compares to this. If anyone has any other suggestion for decent 22-24" inch displays ( without having to shell out big bucks for an ACD ) any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Use it, theres already a 5 page thread about this monitor somewhere (cant be bothered to look in which forum).

But it uses an IPS panel so yes its good for photo editing etc.

This is a good monitor

I have been using a Dell 2209WA with my macbook for about a month. I am a graphic designer and did a lot of research before buying this monitor. So far, I have been very happy with it. You'll need a miniDVI cable from apple.

True, i got 1 as well. Any idea, where can I find some colour profiles for it? Can't be bothered with calibrating it myself.

I still cant believe I picked up this monitor for $190 CAD before tax, it has been great and sturdy with no problems since I bought it earlier this year.

I have two of them, and the colors are vibrant and quite accurate. It's definitely a high quality monitor for the money.

If, however, you are talking about build quality, then I've had a few issues with dead pixels and dark spots. I had to send both original monitors back after I noticed these defects, but dell handled the returns very well and I got replacements two days after my initial call. The new ones have no defects, and I'm thoroughly enjoying them.
