So is DVI the only way to connect a 2408wfp to the MacBook Pro Unibody?

I'm guessing Display Port isn't compatible?

You could use MDP to VGA, MDP to DVI, MDP to HDMI or MDP to DP. All options will work.

Yes, display port will work and will be the cheapest option.

Apple is a bit moronic about their insistence on using DP as a standard, but don't really accommodate for it.

There are a few companies that sell a basic cable that adapts from mini-dp to full sized DP, which will be compatible will your MBP.
