Hello, I've got to use a Dell 968 Printer, for printing. however, I'm having a little trouble with it at the moment, since it's a Windows-only printer, and not Mac compatible. The printer is basically a rebranded Lexmark 9500 Series AIO.

Basically, I've used the driver for the original to try to get it to print from the Mac (10.6). No joy.

So, I've installed Parallels, and Windows 7. I can now print from the virtual machine. Great!

So, I try to hook the printer up to the Samba share, using the advanced option in Print and Fax. The printer is connected. I've used the Generic PostScript Printer driver for this.

When I try to print, a blank document is produced from the printer. Not good. When I try to use the Generic PCL Laser Printer driver, same thing happens.

When I try to use the Lexmark 9500 series driver, it just doesn't print.

What can I do?

Edit: using this now: http://blog.iharder.net/2011/01/25/share-a-windows-printer-with-a-mac/

Had to use MS Publisher Imagesetter instead of the Apple Color LaserWriter in Windows, as Win7 doesn't have the Apple Color LaserWriter available.

Firewall is disabled. Still not printing. Mac cannot 'connect' to the printer. I can print using the GhostscriptLPR device in the VM.
