if you purchase one of the selected other DELL laptops ($690-$1000), you can get this mini for $99 until 9/9/08.

why this sounds like an ads? it shouldn't, Acer Aspire one is still the king of best buy.

Interesting, the thing about Dell is that it at least helps drive prices down...

Would like to see Apple's version next week? (or next month with the computers?)

It definitely does, I got my aspire one for $349, $50 less just two weeks ago when Dell said to enter the market, I do own them some thanks :)

950 is fine with old games such as Heroes 3, Heroes 4, Diablo 2, etc

Apple MacBook Mini????

I know more than a few people who would jump on a Apple Mini. They, as well as myself, cannot justify a desktop and a notebook. I'm willing to bet there are also a lot of potential customers who might use a MiniBook for their only computing device. Students perhaps?

I'm sure Apple has already done market research to determine viability and hopefully we will see one soon.

I find it interesting that minis started popping up before a market for them even existed.

I would LOVE to see one of these for OS X.

I heard OS X runs decent on the EEE PC(Tiger better then leopard, so perhaps a standard 2Gb of RAM would work)

Nice to see some main stream Ubuntu love! To bad it doesn't ship same time as XP one.

I'm going to snap one of these up with Ubuntu on it. My wife has an EeePC, and she loves it. As a bonus, the idiots at TSA think it's a portable DVD player, so she never has to take it out at checkpoints.

My only complaint is that PC manufacturers seem to love the old school analog VGA port. If the Mac Mini has DVI, it can't be horribly expensive to do away with VGA.

oh, im so regret my honesty! I always took mine out voluntarily... :)

Hopefully apple will come out with a machine like this. I thought the rumors last winter were it, but that turned out to be the air. Maybe by mwsf, when there are dual core atoms available. I can always hope, right?

It's an actually pretty decent looking Dell

This or an Aspire One would be pretty nice. Ubuntu is awesome

The EEE really started something didn't it..

I'm really looking at one of these. My Mom is looking for a cheap laptop and if I can upsell her on one of the bigger Dell's I'll piggy back on her order for the $99 deal (I'll give her $150 or something to offset the cost on her laptop order, plus extend her my government employee discount).

I give it about a week before the OSX86 guys have Tiger on this. :)
