I have been using a Mac for the last four years, but unfortunately my I was given a Fujitsu tablet notebook to use in college. I ordered a Dell monitor which arrived today. It's been awhile since I've used a PC so I need some help with the configuration. I am having trouble setting the external monitor to it's max resolution while maintaining the notebooks resolution. Right now I am only able to have them display the same resolution.

Thanks!

[EDIt] Here are the computer specs if that matters...
· Fujitsu model T5010 tablet computer
· Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 (2.4 GHz)
· Intel GM45 Express chipset
· 4GB memory (DDR3 1066 SDRAM)
· 120GB Hard Drive
· 13.3” XGA 1280x800 LCD with active digitizer
· DVD+/-RW
· Port replicator with 2nd power charger
· Integrated Smart Card Reader
· Second drive-bay battery
· Integrated10/100/1000 Ethernet
· Wireless - 802.11a/g/n

When you go to the display properties/resolution settings, you need to select the external monitor before changing the resolution. This should then just change the resolution of that monitor.

It looks like I was able to get it going

Properties > Settings > Advanced > Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile > Graphics Properties > changing operating mode from Dual Display clone to Extended Desktop.

Whenever the notebook hibernates or the sceen shuts off, the monitor reverts back to the notebook's resolution in single screen clone mode. Is there a way to make the dual screen setup with individual resolutions default?

Thanks.
