Hey all!

I just recently acquired a Dell ST2220T multi-touch monitor (http://dell.to/fJGJEQ) in my office, and it works great with Windows 7 (the officially supported Operating System). I would really like to get it working on my Mac though, because it's such an awesome monitor. I've also tried it with Windows XP, and Ubuntu with no avail.

The strange thing, is that the monitor identifies itself as a HID-compliant device, so I expected it to work right out of the box at least with single-point clicks, but it does not. Ink, however, does show up in System Preferences when I attach the monitor. So I think OS X at least recognizes it as some kind of tablet.

After some exhaustive Google searching, I found a few people who have had success with the getting the Dell Studio one to work with a hackintosh distribution using TouchKit (http://www.touchkit.com/) and TouchPY, but nothing I've tried works with the ST2220T. I guess the Studio one uses a different touchscreen than the ST2220t...

This monitor literally just came out this month, so it's brand new. I haven't heard from a lot of people trying to get this working on any OS other than Windows 7 yet. Does anyone else have any ideas? I'd greatly appreciate it! :D

ST2220T device now supported on Mac OS

The Touch-Base driver now supports this touch monitor. On their download page select the Dell, ST2220T, USB device.

The driver supports both touches but currently only processes a single touch at the desktop level. The next release of their driver has a gesture engine to process up to 4 touch gestures at the OS and application level

Mac & Dell multi touch ST222OT

The reason why dell doesn't have a driver for mac is because apple won't support it. they are in competition remember. the last thing apple wants to do is support dell's hardware. they are coming out with their own and they like to keep the monopoly on their stuff... we need programmers to write the software for us... check out this IOS simulator.
