I just connected a new Dell S2722QC monitor to one of the Thunderbolt (TB) ports on my Mac mini M2 Pro (MM2P). I already have an older Dell P2419HC monitor connected using the HDMI port on the MM2P. The two monitors are working great together.

However, I also have two external USB drives connected to two other TB ports on the MM2P, a 2TB Samsung T7 Shield and a 4TB Samsung T7 Shield.

When I connected the new monitor, I lost my connection to the 4TB external drive. The 2TB appeared to still be connected and working. I rebooted the MM2P to see if that would help, but now neither of the of the external drives are connected.

Am I exceeding some limit of the four TB ports?

Thanks.

After disconnecting and reconnecting the external drives several times, I was able to get first one, and then the other to work. I am using the USB-C cables that came with the Samsung external drives, but the point where the USB-C connectors plug into the back of the MM2P is apparently very sensitive to being touched. If I touch it, the external drives drops offline and I get an "improper disconnection" error message.
