I'm considering purchasing the Dell U2212HM display, but I'd like to know its approximate minimum brightness.

If you own this display, could you run a little test?
- Open a white page on the display and the MacBook
- Set the Dell U2212HM to minimum brightness through the OSD
- Adjust the MacBook's display to roughly match the brightness of the Dell
- Post the number of brightness "ticks" on the MacBook in this thread

Thanks!

I know I have something from that series but I dunno if it's this exact model. If it is then i'll post up.

So I bought the display, and ran the test myself.

The minimum brightness of the U2212HM is equivalent to 8 ticks (50%) on a MacBook Pro 13" 2011.

It's a great display overall but the anti-glare coating is too aggressive. I wish it was like the AG coating on the MacBook Pro's. Apple knows how to do it best...

It's still much better than a glossy screen though.
