I just got a new external monitor to go with my Macbook 15" Retina Display notebook. I am currently connecting it to my monitor using an unofficial display port adaptor and the text on the screen seems to faux, blurry and its really annoying.

However, if I zoom into the text its really clear and looks so crisp. Is there something I am missing here? Is this monitor not compatible with macbook or is it OS X?

I have bootcamp and its perfectly fine on windows and because they have DPI scaling its looks so beautiful! Is this something available on OS X?

Thanks

Sounds like the resolution the MacBook is outputting is not the preferred. Play with the settings in the Displays system preference.
