Just opened my new U2713HM and connected it to an Haswell MBA, realized that I should use a famous hack to get a proper RGB signal out of the miniDP-DP cable, but the monitor is still recognized as a TV by OSX, why?

You can safely ignore the icon. Check the resolution list, it lists 1080p/720p when the display is recognized as a TV.

i have the same problem with my Dell U2414H.
What hack did you use to get full RGB? How do you check if you have full RGB?
Mine is also connected with mDP to DP.

Here you will find the patch to get an RGB signal that you can double check in the system preferences (see my prev screenshot), and in the monitor menu where before the patch it would show YCbCr.
