Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a 27 inch monitor that I can connect my two computers to simultaneously. I have a PC laptop and a MacBook Air M1, and would love to be able to switch between the two easily.

I can buy either the U2720Q or the 27UN880-B for roughly the same price. Which would you recommend in terms of picture quality, connectivity, and overall build quality?

Thanks so much!

It's a close call between them both. The 27UN880 has the advantage of the Ergo arm (which is actually very good), while the U2720Q's included stand is cheap and wobbly like most manufacturers' stands are. The Dell may have a slightly more accurate display and slightly better contrast, but it's cutting it close...and this difference may be slimmer because you have to factor in variances between panels. Honestly, if you would like to mount your monitor and don't already have a monitor arm or don't want to pay extra money to get one, I'd say the 27UN880 is a more worthwhile option.

I have a LG 32UN880-B and it’s a great display. I was running it with my iMac 5K as a secondary monitor and later a pair with my new Mac Studio. At the end decided to get a pair of ASDs VESA Mount and moved the 32UN880-B to my bedroom setup. The 32UN880-B is very accurate color wise so if you are into Photoshop then you are going to love it.

Can't speak to the LG but I own the Dell. Only criticism from me would be the lack of deep black performance and less than perfect corner-to-corner uniformity therein, but this is pretty standard for monitors which typically lack full array local dimming. I probably wouldn't want to use it for serious movie viewing in a darkened room but as an all-round general computer monitor I am very impressed.

I too considered the LG at purchase time and it was really a flip of the coin but eventually I opted for the Dell mainly because I preferred the aesthetic deign. I think both are good monitors and neither is likely to be a disappointment if your expectations are commensurate with this market segment.
