Looking to replace my aging 2017 27" iMac with either a Mac Mini or Mac Studio.

Been researching for a 4k monitor (5k too expensive for me) and can't decide between a 60hz monitor with great colour/contrast or a gaming monitor with a high 144hz refresh rate (like my MBP 14").

I'd be using my new mac mini/studio for general browsing, school work (teacher), photo organising and editing (Lightroom Classic) and 4k video viewing and editing.

Thoughts?

I think the Dell is a better monitor for the use cases you’ve listed.

Consider the S2722QC if you want a less expensive option. It’s a good 4K USB-C monitor.

Don't get the U2723QE. I had one for two weeks and have returned it for a studio display. Dell has decided to make ComfortView Plus (blue light filtering) permanent and it can't be disabled in the menus. Another monitor to throw into your hunt would be the Lenovo P27u-20, which is 4k and has a TB4 dock inside rather than USB4 on the Dell.

Really annoyed that they did this as I've been rocking Dell monitors ever since 2013, but the yellow-tinted whites were really bad when beside the XDR display on my MacBook Pro... I'd consider it a no-go especially considering you want to do some photo/video editing.
