anyone got one of these, just in the market for a 26" lcd.
any views appreciated. Dell uk £689+vat

most of dell's TVs get lousy reviews. I mean really bad. check out cnet's:

i recently bought a 23 inch samsung from Amazon.com. amazing display. relatively cheap compared to Sharp and Sony, much better picture though. 3000:1 contrast ratio.

amazon sells some samsung LCD TVs on their website that are 26 inches but cheaper than the dell (and newly released). they look similar but the speakers are different, and the contrast ratio is 800:1. still, it's a really good TV.

good luck, hope this helped

edit: i think amazon.com might even be misinformed about the 800:1 contrast ratio.

LCD and Plasma displays have a specification called the Contrast Ratio. Essentially, it defines how sharp the picture will be. The higher the ratio, the better the picture should be. Amazon says the ratio for those two LCDs I showed you is 800:1. If that is true, you will have a nice and sharp picture on the TV. If it is 3000:1, the picture will be even better. The only reason I think it might be 3000:1 is because on the United States Samsung website they sell an almost identical television (except 23 inches diagonally) thats sports a 3000:1 ratio.
