Dell WD19 docking station with Mac mini

The Dell WD19 docking station can be used with a MacBook Pro as far as I can tell.
But can it be used with a Mac Mini as well?

I am concerned about plugging in a usb-c powered cable (to charge the laptop) into the Mini.
Could that cause damage to the Mini?
