I'm still confused as to where RT fits in Microsofts world. There are very few metro based applications I use and hardly anything to drive me away from Android and iOS.

Still, at those prices they should shift a few units. :D

I am not biting regardless of any price until the form factor is to my liking for a Windows 8 tablet. Don't want to carry around something in size and weight again to what I had bought it the past for an android tablet and end up not being thrilled with it.

Today Lenovo discount their windows 8 tablet to $300 , something tells me those tablets are selling even worse than Android tablets

VERY much worth it. Don't hamstring yourself so badly with RT.

Is that the RT ones, or an Atom one?

No. Atom runs full windows 8. Backwards compatible with windows 7.

RT runs Arm processors and very limited like windows 8 phones/iPhones/android devices.

Yep.... Android is totally failing on tablets:

Even if you exclude Amazon products, its over 50% market share

But hey, if you think that compares to the combined Windows 8 and Rt tablet market share at less than 5% good for you I guess!

Microsoft has been known in the past to subsidize manufactures for the sake of building market share. I wonder if that is what is going on now? Or are the retailers simply trying to clear stocks?

I was asking of the Lenovo ones on sale were the atom or RT ones.

It was the atom one, sold out

Wow, do you have a link? I'm not seeing it on lenovos website.

edit: OK I'm assuming you are talking about the Staples deal, they have the 11.6" Lenovo tablet for $399, and they have a $100 coupon but I wasn't sure if you could add that on top of what is already noted as $100 savings off of the regular price of $499. It's all academic anyhow as they are sold out. For $399 it's a great deal, for $299 it's incredible and I would have bought a couple to give to family.

The atom powered windows tablets are really pretty incredible little computers.
