Wait, flames? That means a 5hp gain right? I mean, I drive a VW so I'm not really sure what the flame count is now. But wow, that's one ugly PeeCee!

Flames, a skull and it is signed by someone!!! 1!!! 2!!!

Oh man, I didn't even see the skull. That really just made me giggle. I'm still trying to figure out the point of quad SLI with a single 20"+ monitor. Anyone?

Eventually better frame rates, but it seems SLI doesn't help quite as much as it did in the 3dfx days.

Dell must be doing something right, as they're still profitable. Thus, I figure they have a target market in mind.

iGary, do you have link to this pic? I cannot find a Dell Renegade system anywhere.

EDIT: Nevermind.. found it:

The point of all this graphics power? To drive Dell's new 30" ultra hi-res LCD monitor, which sports a resolution of 2560x1600. We saw a demo of Call of Duty 2 running at this resolution, and it was amazingly sharp while still running at a good speed. Nvidia claims that with some anti-aliasing modes, because of all that graphics memory spread around, they achieve faster than 4x speedup over a single card.

Ugh. How much does one of these run anyways? And I mean, one of THESE. Flames, skulls, quadSLI and signature! haha Maybe a trade for my powerbook and my girlfriends powermac? I really think flames will help my computing experience.

Those specs MORE than make up for the case... in fact, I'd probibly remove the case alltogether: imagine the HEAT from that thing!

By the way, the 4.26 GHz Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition is overclocked AND under warranty, so if it breaks due to overclocking, Dell will replace it

Here you go...

One option buyers can choose to pair with this high-end system is the latest Dell 3007WFP 30-inch display. The Quad SLI graphics solution can drive the 2560x1600 display at high frame rates, even with modern, graphics intensive games such as Monolith's F.E.A.R.

Also included will be a Western Digital Raptor 150GB, 10,000RPM SATA drive and a pair of Western Digital 250GB, 7,200 RPM drives configured as either RAID 0 or 1.

Dell anticipates shipping the new XPS system by the end of January, with prices ranging from about $4,000 to 7,000 plus, depending on display and other options.

Wow, removing the case seems like a good idea. That's actually a pretty kick ass computer, I dare say. Needs some OS X lovin' though.

I'd never be man enough for the quadSLI though. That's for sure.

It's not dull. Actually, I kind of like it. It would grow old quickly but it's different. The gray/silver/black x86 PCs really look bad. I'm not saying that I would buy one, just that I think it's a good change.

Maybe they should've gone with AMD instead.
Luckily, in other news today, their CEO hinted that they're leaving Intel for AMD :D W00t!

As for the XPS, specs wise, it's a biatch :p Lookswise... I dunno... it'd be a lot better if it at least had an X-Window in the side :D

Now this I like:
Dell increased the default clock multiplier from 13.0x (3.46GHz) up to 16.0x for a factory overclocked speed of 4.26GHz - warrantied.
:eek::eek::eek:

Damn, that thing must get at least 4000fps in Quake 3

:D

Yeah, sure. Like they've done a hundred times before.

Dell, thinking out loud: "AMD sure looks good now."
Intel, not thinking out loud: "Hmm... Can't have any of that, can we?"
Intel, to Dell: "Here's an insane rebate. Please stay with us. We love you."
Dell and Intel hugs and kisses.

For another version of this story, replace Dell with most PC companies, Intel with Microsoft (or Balmer), and AMD with Linux.

Wow now that is ugly

It is nice airbrush work but that still doesn't makeup for the Windows system inside. So it can render video fast, but for how long? Maybe DELL thinks they can sell on looks alone, but price is far to high for a virus catcher. No thanks, I'll take a G5 Quad and enjoy my computer experience.
