Delta updates are here!

That's right,so I saw an update for Gta vice city,the game has more than 1gb and my Internet connection is about 3mb/s but when I hit the update button,the game downloaded in 10 seconds and than installed for another 15 seconds so I guess that it was a delta update.Let me know if anybody else experienced something like this.

Yup delta updates, but I don't think it's a new thing, I already had noticed it on other apps.

Too bad iTunes still downloads the whole thing (unless you sync your iPad and it grabs the whole thing from the iPad again and saves you a lot of traffic in the way).

When did iOS app delta updates start? Must have been iOS 6, right?

This slipped under the radar, to me at least.

I think so. After iOS 6 the app updates, specially those huge games like gta (they fixed the chopper!) are very fast.
