Funny, I opened this thread mainly for amusement (I consider astrology and such to be utter BS, sorry :D). But it looks like a good app from the screenshots, and actually it looks damn good for astronomy. A decent moon phase calendar is useful, moon rise/set times are also useful, and eclipse information is a definite bonus. I'm looking forwards to trying it now :)

I've not got my ipad here, but I'll give it a go tonight.
 
Ok, had chance to try it now. Mini-review:

1st thing I see: There's a switch to turn off astrology, right there on the welcome screen! This looks promising :)

Then, the main screen. Wow! This is a great app! Beautifully laid out, full of nice, but subtle, animations too. And it's surprisingly feature packed! I'm amazed at the number of small details packed into each area, yet without cluttering the design. Great design work.

But it's no use just having a pretty face, how about functionality? Yep, that's covered too! I think it pretty much covers everything you're likely to want to know about the moon. The phase calendar is excellent, you can look at any date easily and get detailed info. The eclipse thing is nice too - a simple icon change on the calendar to indicate an eclipse, and a dropdown on the main screen to tell you when the next one will be. There's even a compass in there. Timezone + location can be set manually too.

I'm not sure about the astrology part, as I have no interest in that. One thing seems odd though - 'Zodiac Gardening'. That section seems to be a regular horoscope. I was expecting a section about when to plant seeds or something. Is the name correct?

Overall, I recommend this. It's very well built (and I say that as an iPad dev), well designed, and very functional.

Some minor bugs/requests for the devs:

The startup screen has Russian (? guessing) text at the top. The rest is in english.. odd. Well, it doesn't matter, but I guess it's a bug. My region is set to UK. I have a screenshot if needed.

Another bug: turning off astrology hides the little astrology tab on the left, but if you switch to the bottom moon calendar screen and return, it comes back.

Request: it would be nice to hide the settings panel, but keep the round calendar/compass on screen.
