Hi everyone,

I have had my rMBP for just under 2 weeks and have managed to get 2 small dents on it. I know that this has had many posts before, but I wanted too show you my pics.

Will those dents have any affect on the screen or performance at all? Can it void the warranty or make apple refuse to fix it?

I'm still within my 2 week return period (today's my last day), so is it worth returning and going through the pain of moving everything and getting possible IR or other issues? (So far I haven't had IR). Also if I do replace it I will be travelling, so if I discover an issue it will be hard to return during the 2 week return period.

Am I making too much of a fuss over those 3 dents?

Thanks

i see small cosmetic marks.. not dents? wont effect anything.

also... the computer didnt come like that right? why would you return it when its not the manufactures fault? sounds like you need some kind of accidental insurance

Yeah if you drop a rock on it and dent it...

But this is rather a chip than dent.
I cant really since the pic is blurred but far as I believe, those have
nothing to do with the screen but just the body around it got damaged.

Just return it and get a new one , it's going to drive you crazy that you still had a chance to get a new MacBook pro and maybe this time get a case to protect the computer

The return policy is void if the machine is damaged in any way.

I returned an iPhone that was dropped and the Apple Store took it back, no questions asked. There was a deep dent on the bezel and still, nothing. :D

you call two little dents damaged ? It's not CSI Miami they only see if it works and they exchange it or get a refund

Well yes. Is the machine in the same cosmetic condition it was sold in? If not, then it's cosmetically damaged.

It wont affect the warranty, but it's unfair to expect Apple to give a new machine because you dented it.

It not like apple is going to lose money on it they can always sell it as a refurb $100 less am not worry about apple am just making sure the OP doesn't drive him self crazy when he can just exchange it and be a happy person

Well, apple does lose $100 + labor, re-packaging, replacement parts, and shipping even in that scenario :). Regardless, refurb sales are still pretty substantial profit. :D

Can't even see the 'dents'. If it's bothering you that much, take it back. Apple will only care if the damage is significant, or it hinders the use of the laptop.

Personally, I'd just forget about it and remember life is too short to sod around with 1mm 'dents'.

My 2 pence.

Who cares? I managed to get a very nice dent in the corner of my iPad and I just accepted that the fact that **** happens.

I'd be wicked upset if I got a dent/scratch on my rMBP but at the end of the day, as long as it still worked, I'd live with it.
