lets discuss!

This is Mine:

1. 10" screen, same size as Asus EEE PC machine(whose screen is 7"), BUT with minimum border, ~ 0.1", 1024x768~1280x800 resolution.
2. Battery lasts at least 3.5hours in REAL world, with user replaceable battery.
3. no Optical drive
4. 16G SSD HDD by default, with OSX adpoting non-journaled file system (to extend SSD Life), SSD HDD is replaceable (like some of the EEEs)
5. a SD slot supports up to 64GB SDHC card
6. Webcam build-in
7. 1.3GHz CPU (no need for 1.8GHZ, since most of the time, MB, MBP only runs at half of the top clock speed anyway)
8. 2 USB 2.0 slots, ethernet slot, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, VGA supports up to external display of 1900X1200
9. don't really care about thickness, 1~2" is fine with me
10. 1G RAM at least, with user expandable to 2G
11. 2-3 lbs
12. priced at $599~669 (2G RAM)

An aluminum or titanium macbook with a taller screen ratio, and a better video card. Everything else on the macbook can stay the same. Thats all I want, why is it so difficult?

Basically a small macbook pro.

12'' widescreen 1280x800 (i want a thin display bezel too, no more than 1/4 of an inch.. the air is an inch on each side.. how stupid)
All-alumnium body like the current MBP.. no ugly ass black keyboard.
A LV C2D (1.8GHz)
1'' thick
2usb, 1fw800, mini-dvi-i, ethernet, audio in/out, expresscard 34
standard user-replaceable 2.5'' HDD (option for a 32GB ssd and you would be able to upgrade to a 128 in a year or two when they're cheap)
standard user-replaceable ram.
user-replaceable battery..

I think Apple could also make a huge splash selling an eeeMac.

8'' widescreen, full featured ultraportable. 16GB SSD plus a SDHC slot so you can expand capacity.. 2 usb, 1fw, ETHERNET!, replaceable battery
basically an asus eeePC with the mac styling that runs OS X.

sell that for $599.. Macbook Mini. They would sell a TON of those. Look at how successful the eeePC has been.

10-12" screen, thin but not too thin to not have a gigabit ethernet port. 1 USB port like the Airbook is fine. User replaceable battery. Priced notably cheaper than the Macbook. Basically smaller and less powerful than the Airbook/Macbook but bigger and more powerful than the ASUS EeePC... which itself is looking to be a very attractive buy.
