It is pretty big news but I have a feeling you might get downvoted for starting a new thread :p

:D

Two things:

1. You get downvoted on this forum for anything you post, while I enjoy Apple products and feel a desire to engage in communications involving them, this place demonstrates the very worst of what I consider "fan-boyism" and will retaliate against their own "users" for the expression of any emotions that do not exactly 100% without question match their own. So whatever.

2. I get a feeling a lot of people aren't following that thread, but this is BIG news. And if I hadn't seen it on that thread I would want to know. There must be others who want to know but never will otherwise.

2a: I'm not here to make any friends. ;)

Way to clutter the front page....and NO, this does not deserve it's own thread. There's already an existing 6-page topic regarding Pod2g's status/news/updates for 5.1 JB.

Edit: for those not capable of searching the 1st page, here it is:

Oh how terrible for you... having to read past one additional topic. :(

I'm going to assume you must be the owner of this website, and as such, at cost for all bills related to the extra bandwidth my one little post brought about.

Thank you kind sir, for dictating what is and what isn't worthy.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

You're missing the point. You created a redundant topic where there was already an ongoing discussion of this very topic and other materials related to this subject matter as well.

It's much more organized keeping everything in one, single thread instead of creating new topics whenever a new development is discovered/announced.

This is NOT about me - but rather keeping the forum organized and easier to read (and search) for the members here.

Everyone who starts a new thread believes it deserves it. I can't recall anyone actually putting something so obvious in the thread title. I guess some people need more attention than others.

This forum is here for one thing and one thing only, to exchange information.

This is a topic many people are interested in.

I argue that many people are NOT reading that 6 page thread.

Along with that, you and I both know (unless you're 12 years old) that few people ever use search.

Knowledge is being passed on. You are attempting to regulate/moderate the expressions and demonstrations of communications without any authority to do so.

If "organization" is so important to you, then stop adding to this thread and taking it even more away from it's original intent.

Thank you.

I thought he had his iPhone jb untethered on 5.1 already.
Wondering if that means the release is near or if he's still going to hold it till 6.0?

I was wondering the exact same thing. I was excited to see the tweet but confused at the same time.

Maybe he means that the public release he's been trying to complete works to jailbreak untethered? (ie it doesn't require a dev account or hacking skills to pull off etc)

Either way it's encouraging news for those hoping for a 5.1 jailbreak.

Seeing how your username is HickDead, I'm going to assume you're a troll.

This excites me greatly! I had to jump to iOS 5.1 because I got bought a new phone for myself and gave my old 5.0.1 one to my dad.. :D Can't wait. Thanks OP I don't follow Twitter!

Now that the rant is over let's get back ontopic shall we?

pod2g @pod2g
People say: "don't release now coz iOS 5.1 tethered is good enough". Don't forget there are AppleTV3, 4S, iPad2 and iPad3 users out there !

and:
pod2g @pod2g
And a lot of these users got 5.1 out of the box…

I guess he has made up his mind…..

Sounds like it. Now the question is when will the jb tool be ready for release! I would love it if he'd give us an ETA but I understand why they don't like doing that.

Especially after last time; after making public they had it and a 1/2 ETA they ran in to problems beacuse it needed Developer tools, which is a big NO-NO.

I took another 2-3 weeks and all big players in the JB-scene.

Yeah I know but I think I'd be ok with an ETA that's one or two weeks off :p
