Designer needs external display for MBP.

Hello. I have a 15" MBP (2.8 GHz / Intel Core 2 Duo / 4 GB) and am wanting to get a larger external display to connect to. I love the mac displays, but of course they are to over priced for me at this time. Can anyone recommend a great display with accurate color. I was thinking of going with a 23" display. I am a graphic designer and will be using it for print and web in addition to working with photographic images. Please advise. Thank you.
