iOS designing visual patterns from algorithms

I would like to know how use an algorithm to design visual patterns.

For example Hypocycloid equation would produce something like this.

So let's say I have a list of the top 10 algorithms used at interviews and I want to create visual designs on an iOS device. How would I do it?
