I need one, this snake lamp one keeps wasting bulbs. I use it basically for my art projects. Umm, probably something not too expensive, and cool looking.

That is always a good one, or I have this, and I really like it:

haha, is that the lamp from "a christmas story" ? :D

what about an LED lamp? that's just an example one, there's better LED lamps out there. or maybe halogen? the bulbs last an incredible amount of time and usually throw nice light.

That's pretty cool! I actually need a lamp too, my old one broke a few days ago.

I don't think the halogen ones make good desk lamps.
At least not the one I bought, it was nice light, but the thing was very hot and to work under its heat gave me a headache.

yeah, they are sort of hot. mine are all torchieres (they face upwards)

I call my halogen lamp the interrogation light since it tends to blind people.

I have a few incandescent lights of a relatively mid-level wattage. It creates a nice ambiance with ample light at the same time.

i think you should just light your desk on fire. imagine the pretty lighting then. :D

I think not, pyro :p I love my desk. One of the few things I'm proud building.

Sam

go to iKea and buy on of em swivel/clamp lamps, they are cheap and u have choices of different shapes some circular, some are long.

Also pick one that is a halogen or fluorescent because they last longer, and are brighter and produce less heat.

Get one that you can clamp onto the side of your desk, or one with a dimmer on it.
