I have a 9.7 ipad4 screen in a Mac Plus Case with a Mac mini 2012 running OpenCore+Ventura, however the screen display is obscured around the top and sides. I’d like to “shrink the desktop” so that the whole desktop is viewable. Basically shrinking the desktop down and having it in the center of the display with an unused boarder around the desktop. Something like this (below). I want to do this as some of the LCD panel is obscured but I need to access the whole desktop.

1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.

2. In the System Preferences window, click Monitors.

3. In the Displays section, a window will appear representing the current display. Look for options related to screen resolution or scaling.

4. Adjust the resolution or scaling settings to reduce the desktop size and center it in the visible area of the screen.

5. Apply the changes and check how the desktop is displayed.

6. Also, check if there are any settings in OpenCore+Ventura that allow you to customize the display output or adjust the screen position. Refer to the documentation or support resources for your specific software for instructions on making these settings.

I'm curious, how did you get the iPad 4 screen connected to the Mac mini? Are you somehow using it directly as a display, or are you using something like sidecar?

The setup sounds extremely cool!

I ended up using an app called BetterDisplay that has an underscan setting, and does what I need.

Here are some picts!
