I'm using an HP DeskJet 5550 with my new Imac. Works fine, except for one thing. The printer is set to turn on automatically when it receives a print job, and in fact it used to do so just fine on my Windows PC, still does so under XP in Fusion, and will also do so on the Mac side when HP's Mac utility/diagnostics program runs. However, it won't turn on automatically when the Mac sends it a regular print job. I'm using the latest HP Mac OS X driver. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I had the same problem, I believe that it has to do with the drivers and software that is installed. I miss that functionality. The best advice is that I would call HP and see if they have a solution for the problem.

Well, I solved my own problem. I downloaded from HP the older Mac driver -- for OS 10.4 -- and it works just fine. Auto shut-off and turn-on, two-sided printing, etc. Of course the HP site says to use the HP drivers that were included with Leopard, which gave me the problem in the first place.
