I was playing with my nice new Mac Pro and decided to try the desktop background slideshow thing, where the background changes periodically. I created a new folder and downloaded some nice art, then set the prefs. It looked good, but not happy with the images I went into the folder and changes a few images. After which point the desktop went really weird - instead of nicely fading from one image to another it started "jumping" from one image to another. Okay, that was horrid, so I turned off the change background option. Which it totally ignored! Whatever I did it would NOT stop flicking from one image to another in the background. Only way I could stop it was to delete all the images from the folder I'd created.

As wonderful as OS X is... it really does have it's Windows-ish moments sometimes :) Yesterday I had a application (Skype) stuck in the Dock that would not quit, or focus, regardless what I did and wasn't even listed on the process list. *sigh*
