Desktop default save position?

Hello,

Does anyone know if I can change the default position where my saved files show up on the desktop? Right now, my files show up on the right side (including any CDs or DVDs I put in my optical drive).

You can't, unfortunately. At least it doesn't look like anyone's been able to do it after searching for a minute or two.
