hi
i'm desperately seeking advce for issue regarding my system.

at fresh restart of system, my entire desktop disappeared, even top finder tool bar.
the only thing that i can access with a roll of the mouse, is the dock.

in the dock the finder is not active, and if click over it, nothing happens.
on a right click, a message "finder not running" appears.

i was advised to trash the com.apple.finder.plist prefs, so i did, booted in 9, trashed pref, rebooted in X (10.2.6) .

Now the finder tool bar along with a finder window with my drivers in it (i've partitioned the HD in 4) is flashing on my screen.

I still can't access anything on the desktop, nor see anything still.

what else can i do? what is this problem related to?

please help
thanks in advance
m.

me too!

I have a very similar problem yesterday - got bored trying to fix it and so reinstalled my system. I did remember that I was running at least one haxie when I upgraded to 10.2.6 (a bad idea). Haxies can be cool and useful but do need turning off when upgrading the macos.
Good luck
