Hi everyone,
I've just noticed that my whole Destkop folder was just "wiped", so to speak.
Some info about the issue:
I had two folders in the Desktop, with a few GB of data, and 2 files. I'm positive everything was in order until 2 days ago.
Funny thing is, the custom icon I had assigned to the Desktop is also missing.
All of this makes me believe that I didn't accidentally delete the files and folders..
In the Trash, there are a lot of "old" files, deleted (I think) when the Desktop was still normal, so another evidence that I probably didn't delete everything somehow.
Sadly, I don't have a Time Machine drive.
I'm running OS X 10.9.5 on a Retina MBP (late 2012)
I performed a general search using Spotlight, and checked the internal SSD status with Disk Utility. I also tried rebooting.
I may be wrong, but I suspect this could be an OS issue rather than an SSD malfunction.. what do you think? Has anyone had a similar issue?
Thanks a lot
EDIT: I also tried running Disk Drill, which scanned the SSD and found lots of old files, but not the ones that used to be in ~/Desktop
